NEW BEDFORD, Mass.- Unations staged a determined second-half comeback to secure a 2–2 draw against South Coast Union on Sunday evening, overturning a two-goal deficit in an intense matchup in New Bedford.
Unations came out on the front foot and created several early chances but were unable to capitalize. South Coast Union took advantage of the missed opportunities, earning a penalty which they converted to take the lead. As the half wore on, Unations continued to push but were caught again in stoppage time, conceding a second goal that sent the hosts into halftime with a 2–0 advantage.
Looking to shift momentum, Unations made a series of changes early in the second half, bringing on Radda Osei, Yves Kamga Fotso, Evans Kussi, Miguel Zacarias Paxtor, and Reagan Kaliisa, who made his club debut. The adjustments proved effective as Unations took control of the match and applied sustained pressure.
Their breakthrough came when Mikky Oladipo delivered a precise assist to Guervens Murat, who calmly finished to pull one back. Unations continued to press, and their persistence paid off late in the game when Yves Kamga Fotso delivered a dangerous ball from the corner that found Murat again, who equalized with a composed finish.
The match finished 2–2, with Unations completing an impressive second-half comeback after trailing by two goals at the break. Despite pushing hard in stoppage time and coming close to a winner, the points were ultimately shared. The result reflects a tale of two halves—South Coast Union capitalizing early, and Unations responding with determination and quality after the interval.
Unations return home on Saturday, April 18 for a 7:30 PM kickoff against Fall River at Morse Field in Worcester, MA.
